‘Group’ in HKV
Hauz Khas Village was my first foray into sexuality. At 16, it was where I first met people who identified themselves as gay, bi, trans, lesbian in the attic of a bookstore for a queer youth meet-up. I was enamoured by the maze of glittering alleyways of up-and-coming brands, cafes and galleries. So when I planned a trip to Delhi I had to spend the week there.
Staying at an airbnb in the heart of HKV I was free to check out the cafes and meet friends. One of them (from the photos) was a delicious stud with a sweet disposition I had met and become friends with at another India trip. We met again and I was reminded just how good he felt the first time we had sex. And I had to go back in to have a sample. After, he fondly reminisced about an orgy I hosted the last time I was there, and I couldn’t let him go without making another fond memory. Cue Grindr; and we had a few cute delhi boys on the way to us.
I dunno whether it was being back in my element in Delhi neighbourhoods, or being in a sexual scenario from having been in so many; I felt so in my element, introducing the boys to each other, easing them past the initial awkwardness to a place where they could get enough of each other. A whacky feeling of being the fatherly figure initiating the youngins into a debaucherous primeval initiation rite to (gay) adulthood. It ended with the boys in a WhatsApp group together and I finally get to share these photos with them, and you.
